Telugu movie star and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna slapped a fan on Wednesday night as the latter was trying to garland the star and take a selfie with him.
According to reports, Balakrishna, son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao and brother-in-law of current Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, was campaigning for by-elections in the coming week in Nandyal, 200 km from Hyderabad.
In a video that is doing the rounds on social media, the accused is seen surrounded by fans and supporters. In the excitement to greet their star, one of the fans accidentally falls on Balakrishna. In a fit of rage, the actor slaps the man and pushes him away.
This is not the first time that the actor, lovingly called Balayya by his fans, has lost his cool in public.
In August this year, he was seen slapping his assistant, while instructing him to take off his shoes, at the launch of his 102nd movie. Earlier, in another incident, the legislator of the state's ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP), slapped a fan outside Tirumala temple as the man was trying to take a selfie with him.
