Gujaratis seem to have caught the itch to create records. Just a couple months ago, over 3.5 lakh people in Rajkot district in Gujarat, aka Modiland, entered the Guinness Book of World Records by singing together — you guessed it — the national anthem.
This remarkable feat was undertaken to mark the installation of a Khodiyar goddess idol at the newly-built Khodal Dham temple.
On Wednesday, in an effort to highlight Prime Minister Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, an astounding 2,104 Gujaratis grabbed a broom each and together got busy sweeping the floor in Surat's Udhana area. The enthusiastic broom wielders performed the cleansing exercise for a whole minute, besting an earlier similar endeavour by a 1,000 Mexicans, and entering the Guinness Book of World Records.
