Citing data from the Association for Democratic Reforms, The Hindureported that 80 percent of the lawmakers recently elected to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly are crorepatis, a 13 percent jump from 2012.
With over ₹118 crore, Bahujan Samaj Party's Alam Urf Guddu Jamali from Mubarakpur has the most assets followed by Vinayshankar with over ₹67 crore and Bharatiya Janata Party's Rani Pakshalika Singh with over ₹58 crore. The lawmakers with the least assets are Ajay Kumar Lallu of the Congress Party, and Dhananjay and Manisha from the BJP who have lesser than ₹10 lakh assets.
BJP won 312 of the 403 seats in the House. While 79 percent of BJP's lawmakers are crorepatis, SP's has 85%, the BSP 95%, and the Congress 91%, the data reveals, according to the The Hindu.
