West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has vociferously opposed demonetisation since it was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8.

On Friday Banerjee alleged that 100 deaths were reported across the country after Trinamool Congress MP Derek O' Brien tweeted a list of the deaths.

Banerjee tweeted:

O' Brien has been tweeting on the deaths related to demonetisation for a few days now. On Friday he tweeted:

On December 14, O' Brien had tweeted:

Two days before that the death toll projected was 95:

Banerjee has been on the warpath with the Narendra Modi government over the demonetisation, which has caused a severe cash crunch in the country.

She has held protests along with her Delhi counter-part Arvind Kejriwal, and even led a protest to the Rashtrapati Bhavan over demonetisation.

On Thursday expressing concern over alleged political discrimination among states, Banerjee wrote to RBI Governor Urjit Patel to know "the nature of allocation of new currency" to each state.

However, the BJP has dismissed her allegations saying demonetisation had given her sleepless nights.
