India is at the risk of becoming China's "economic slave" if the two neighbours continues to trade at the current rate, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has warned.
"5 saal pehle tak China ka vyapaar Hindustan ke sath kareeb Rs 2 lakh ka hota tha, 5 saal mein ye vyapar dugna ho gaya hai (India's trade with Chine used to be for around Rs 2 lakh. But trade has doubled in five years)," Ramdev told ANI on Thursday.
"Yahi speed chalti rhi to humari arthvyavastha ke liye bade khatrey ki ghanti hai,Hindustan China ki aarthik gulami ka shikaar hojayga" (It is a big risk to our economy if this speed continues. Hindustan will become an economic slave of China)," he said.
As tensions have escalated between India and China over the past few weeks, and Beijing has continued to voice its support for Islamabad, Ramdev, a spiritual leader for millions, has called on Indians to boycott Chinese goods. "China has always betrayed us. Buying Chinese products is like helping the enemy. Every nationalist Indian should boycott Chinese products," he tweeted recently.
