Renowned Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik is gunning for yet another world record with his latest creation: he has built, what might be the world’s tallest Santa Claus on Odisha’s Puri beach, Bhubaneswar with a world peace message. Interestingly, the Santa Claus closely resembles Pattnaik's 2013 attempt to grab the Limca Records -- he had built a 35-foot high sand sculpture of Jesus Christ that also included Santa Claus with the same message of world peace.

If this wasn’t enough, the artist also created beautifully detailed sand sculptures of Lord Jesus and Mother Mary. However, it is the colourful Santa that commands all the attention — it took Pattnaik over 1000 tonnes of sand, and over 22 hours spread across two days with a team of 20 people to pound out the grainy masterpiece that stands at a height of 45 feet.
