This Singapore short film serves to remind us that grandparents tend not to be around for as long as we'd like them to. It also proves that the love of a grandparent is as strong (if not more) than a mother or a father.
'Ten Thousand Bowls' shows how an ailing grandmother, solely responsible for her mentally challenged grandson, ensures that her love for him lives on even after she passes away. Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, she knows she doesn't have long to live, and struggles to meet her grandson's basic requirements, including his essential meal of porridge.
This will make you want to go and hug your own grandma.
