Pappu Yadav, Stopped From Throwing Leftover Food In Aisle, Allegedly Threatened To Beat Up Airhostess With His Slipper

Indian Politician Does The Douchiest Thing On A Plane After Being Stopped From Throwing Leftover Food In Aisle

India's embattled coalition government will go into a parliamentary confidence vote with a tiny advantage but the margin is so tight it has no guarantee of surviving, Indian media say. Pappu Yadav, the expelled RJD MP from Bihar, allegedly misbehaved with an airhostess of a Jet Airways flight on Tuesday, after she asked him not to throw the leftover food in the aisle, according to reports. In fact, the situation forced the Patna-Delhi flight captain to seek priority landing in the capital and ask for security presence at the gate, reported Times of India.

"Yadav was extremely unruly with the cabin crew when she asked him not to throw leftover food in the aisle and also misbehaved with her," an airline source said. According to TOI, Yadav also threatened to beat her with his chappal (slipper). Reportedly, the airhostess has also submitted a written complaint to the airline.

"For landing, 1A (Yadav's seat number) refused to upright his seat and unfasten his seat belt... After opening doors, 1A manhandled me and pushed me aside with force to get out of the aircraft.... I went to the cockpit to inform the captain. I was in tears and physically hurt," the airhostess said in the complaint.

Yadav, however, denied having indulged in any brawl on the flight. "Nothing of this sort happened. This is a political conspiracy against me," he told NDTV.

Confirming the incident, Jet Airways said in a statement, "The captain of the flight 9W-728 before landing at Delhi requested ATC for security assistance at the gate due to a disruptive guest onboard. The guest was led away by security agencies on arrival."

A CISF official, however, said that no formal complaint was received. "No one — either the airline or its staff has filed any complaint with us about the incident," the official told PTI.
