Virat Kohli, who has scored 263 runs in five World Cup 2015 matches, is one of the most popular cricketers in the country. And as a fresh-faced 18-year-old, he was just as passionate.
In this March 2007 interview by Trans World Sport, a sports-related television programme produced by IMG Media in London, a young, clean-shaven Kohli speaks earnestly about his game.
"Anil Kumble took 10 wickets in an innings here against Pakistan. There've been lots of famous Indian victories here. It fills me with confidence to play here," he adds, speaking about Delhi's popular Feroz Shah Kotla Ground.
"I'm basically an attacking batsman, I want to go after the bowlers and hit them out of the ground. It's something I'll try and continue to do throughout my career. Indian fans like players who are totally committed, who always try and score big," says Kohli in this interview.
