Tornado At Walgreens In Mobile, Alabama, Caught On Tape Christmas Day (VIDEO)

Amazing surveillance video from a Walgreens pharmacy in Mobile, Ala., captured the harrowing moments when a tornado bore down on the store Christmas Day.

An employee at the Walgreens store at 2050 Government St. in Mobile spoke to The Huffington Post and confirmed the video was shot at her store. She said no one was hurt at the location.

“I was just thankful I was alive because if it had been a hundred yards the other way it would have ripped through the middle of the store," Josh Holman, the store manager, told WTVR.

High winds blew through the store's front doors, scattering items from a display while staff and customers sheltered inside. In the parking lot, more debris was strewn violently about.

A Reddit user pointed out a YouTube video comment in which a user identifying himself as the man in the camouflage jacket described his experience:

"[I warned] everybody to get away from the glass... then dove to the floor with another customer when the air pressure blew in the glass and debris rained down on us. I said a prayer for my girlfriend trapped in my truck outside. When I got to her she was terrified and had a sprained hand from holding a deathgrip as my truck lifted of the ground and settled back to earth as it was struck by an airborn shopping cart."

A far-reaching storm system tore across the South on Tuesday, causing what some think might be the worst Christmas Day tornado outbreak on record. It dumped record snowfall on Arkansas, caused major disruptions in holiday travel and is blamed for at least six deaths.

"The way I've been describing it is as a low-end blizzard, but that's sort of like saying a small Tyrannosaurus rex," John Kwiatkowski, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, told the Associated Press.
