Two soldiers and a civilian have died after the Pakistani army violated the ceasefire in Kupwara district’s Tangdhar sector, PTI reported. At least five others have been injured, Indian Express said.
NDTV quoted Indian army sources as saying they launched attacks on terror camps located across the border, indicating this was retaliation for the ceasefire. The report added that sources say four terror launch pads in Neelam valley (opposite Tangdhar, in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) have been destroyed in the artillery strikes.
“Indian Forces caused heavy damages and casualty to Pakistan after two Indian soldiers and one civilian were killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in Tangdhar sector,” an Indian Army spokesperson said, HT reported.
Ceasefire violations have seen a spike compared to previous years, the Indian Express noted.
