Priyanka Gandhi has been called many sexist and crass things by several BJP leaders. Uttar Pradesh BJP leader Jayakaran Gupta is now one of them.

BJP leaders have been attacking Gandhi on her looks and attire since the day it was announced that she will foray into active politics.

Now Gupta has called her ‘skirt waali bai’ and said she cannot bring ‘acche din’ because of course the quality of a woman’s work is TOTALLY dependent on her clothes no?

ANI quoted Gupta saying at a rally, “Congress ke ek neta to badi jor-jor bolte hain, acche din aaye? Unhe acche din dikhayi nahi dete. Are skirt waali bai saari pehenkar mandir mein shish lagane lagi, gangajal se parhej karne waale log gangajal ka acchman karne lage. ( A Congress leader has been asking if ‘achhe din’ have come. They can’t see it when a woman wearing skirts is visiting temples in sarees and people who have avoided Gangajal are now treating it as holy).

NDTV reported that Gupta later backtracked on his attack saying, “Many people are doing that. Now you need to see who fits under that description.”

Recently Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said having identical features like former prime minister Indira Gandhi did not ensure that one gets power.

“It is being talked about in the Congress that she (Priyanka) has the nose like her grandmother (Indira),” Mandaviya said.

“If you get power by having a nose like your grandmother, then won’t there be a president in every household in China?” the BJP leader asked at the party’s ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally at Anand in Gujarat.

Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya had also taken a dig at Congress for Gandhi’s entry, saying the party was fielding “chocolaty” faces in Lok Sabha polls as it has a dearth of strong leaders.

Bihar deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was quoted as saying by IANS, “An election is neither a wrestling match, nor a beauty contest, nor is it a competition of some other type.”

Senior BJP leader and Bihar Minister Vinod Narain Jha had said, ”“Except for being beautiful, I see no quality that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra may be credited with. Nature has showered its bounty on her. But the Congress should remember that beauty does not garner votes.”
