What Shahid Afridi Said About Virat Kohli's Performance

Kohli now averages over 50 in all three formats and has surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the leading run-scorer in T20Is.

Skipper Virat Kohli on Wednesday hit an unbeaten 72 and took India to a seven-wicket win over South Africa in the second T20 International.

Kohli (72 not out off 52 balls) became the leading run-scorer in T20Is, surpassing his deputy Rohit Sharma. He now has 2441 runs from 71 games while Sharma has 2434 runs from 97 matches.

The skipper now averages over 50 in all three international formats of cricket.

Kohli was given his 11th Man of the Match award on Wednesday, putting him at par with Shahid Afridi. He is only behind Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi who has 12 awards.

Afridi praised Kohli after ICC tweeted out the average statistics and said, “You are a great player indeed.”
