The first semi final of the World Cup on Tuesday was pushed to reserve day after rain played spoilsport during India’s match with New Zealand.
India restricted New Zealand to a 211 for five before rain forced players off the field after 46.1 overs and as per ICC’s playing conditions, the game will resume on Wednesday from where it stopped.

The reserve day will be a continuation and not a restart. Any advantage earned on the scheduled day will be carried through to the reserve day. If the match doesn’t happen on Wednesday, then India will progress to the final by virtue of finishing on top of the league table.
If the two teams play the entire 50 overs, India will have to chase the score set by New Zealand. However, if it rains again (and reports say the weather continues to be cloudy at Old Trafford in Manchester) then India might get a new DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) target.
