Actor Prakash Raj To Contest 2019 Lok Sabha Election From Bengaluru Central

Prakash Raj has been vocal critic of the current BJP-led government at the Centre.

Actor Prakash Raj, who announced his run for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, said on Saturday he will contest from Bengaluru Central as an independent candidate.

Raj is the latest south Indian celebrity to join politics after veterans Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in Tamil Nadu.

The actor has been vocal critic of the current BJP-led government at the Centre.

He has also been one of those seeking justice for his friend and journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot outside her residence in September 2017.

AAP, Kamal Haasan extend support

Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan wished Raj “all the best” for his political journey ahead.

The Aam Aadmi Party has also extended support, with Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia saying “all good people should come into politics”.
