Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered for PS4 and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for Nintendo Switch have a September 20 release date worldwide but Indian retailers were not offered the games for sale by Bandai Namco’s India distributor E-xpress Interactive. We reached out to the company for comment and will update this story if we hear from it. This was a similar situation with Sega’s puzzle-platformer, Catherine: Full Body also skipping store shelves in the country.

When the original game released on PS3 in English back in 2013, it never made its way here with the then Indian distributor for Bandai Namco, Milestone Interactive claiming it was “too niche”. The game went on to do very well on PS3 worldwide after a PS3 limited edition console bundle. It was surprising to see Bandai Namco not bring in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom which had a ton of hype around it. You can still buy that on Amazon through third-party sellers in India.

So what does this mean for you? If you want to play Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered on PS4 or Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on Nintendo Switch, your options include buying it from the parallel import market, importing a copy, or buying it digitally. As of now, retailer Mcube Games has both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch games listed at Rs. 3,499 and Rs. 4,299 respectively. These prices are higher than expected considering Bandai Namco full priced games here usually are Rs. 3,499 and both Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch releases are $49.99 in North America and not $59.99. Mcube Games’ listing for both releases mentions that shipping will begin from September 23.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered on PS4 and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on Nintendo Switch release on September 20.

The Mako Reactor is your one-stop destination for everything Japanese gaming in India.
