Mumbai Rains: Schools Shut, Flights Delayed As IMD Sounds Orange Alert

Many parts of the city were were waterlogged and several flights and trains were delayed as well.

Several areas across Mumbai were waterlogged, schools were shut and an orange alert was sounded by the India Meteorological Department as the city woke up to heavy rains on Wednesday morning.

Reports suggest that trains and flights were delayed and it also disrupted flow of traffic in the city. NDTV reported that till 5:30 am on Wednesday, the city received 103 mm of rainfall in a span of 21 hours.
