Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s episode of ‘Man Vs Wild’ with Bear Grylls aired on Monday night.

The episode was shot at the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, and Grylls called Modi a “great sport”.

The two talked about a host of things, including the prime minister’s childhood, his political journey and his love for nature.

Through the episode’s duration, Modi spoke in Hindi while Bear Grylls spoke in English and it left an overwhelming number of viewers with one question:

People couldn’t compute how the conversation was being carried along without the (visible) presence of a translator, and the question dominated online conversation about the episode.

So much so that people tweeted directly at Bear Grylls, hoping for an answer.

And soon, many were spouting their own theories about how the conversation took place.

Many were just impressed.

And some coveted the ability.

And, of course, there were memes.

So, Bear, do you understand Hindi? The nation really wants to know.
