Jamia Millia Islamia: Rajkummar Rao Says He Strongly Condemns Police Violence

The 'Shahid' actor called out Delhi police on their violent crackdown on students.

National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao joined his peers, such as Richa Chaddha, Sayani Gupta and Anubhav Sinha in condemning Delhi police and its violent crackdown on Jamia Millia Islamia students o Sunday night.

Rao, at this point, is one of the few male actors who’ve spoken against the police atrocities in Delhi.

He tweeted:

So far, other than a few Hindi film actors, most of the industry has maintained a stoic silence on the nationwide protests against the discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act.

Videos showed several Jamia students being marched outside the campus with hands in the air and then take to the Kalkaji police station.

A report in Scroll.in also reported that some students reported that some women students were sexually assaulted by the police.
