Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner Reveals ‘Embarrassing’ Attempt To Flirt With Matthew Perry

We've all been there, just not usually with people this famous.

Newlywed Sophie Turner has reflected on her days as a single woman, revealing one particularly embarrassing attempt to flirt with another celeb.

Back in 2016, the Game Of Thrones actor tweeted that Friends star Matthew Perry was working near her home, writing: “Holy balls. Chanandler Bong himself is rehearsing his play right next to my home.”

At the time, it seemed as though the story began and ended with Sophie’s tweet, but the actress has now revealed there’s actually a lot more to it.

In a new Twitter interview, she explained her attempts to flirt with him, saying: |I would walk around the corner every day and I would see Matthew Perry smoking a cigarette and I bought a lighter from Budgens so that I could walk up to him and offer to light his cigarette.”

As plans go, it’s slightly shaky, and Sophie’s downfall came when she finally approached Matthew, only to find that his cigarette was already lit.

“That was just embarrassing,” she said. “I thought he might see this tweet and then, I don’t know, reach out to me, and ask me on a date or something but he didn’t.”

Ah, Sophie. It obviously wasn’t meant to be.

However, we reckon the fact she’s now married to Joe Jonas means the Game Of Thrones probably hasn’t shed too many tears over it.

Sophie and Joe tied the knot last month, in an intimate, spur-of-the-moment ceremony that took place moments after the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The couple were joined by a handful of famous friends and family, including Joe’s brothers and DJ Diplo, who live-streamed the whole thing on Instagram.
