The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking ban on online streaming platforms, including Netflix and Amazon Prime, till regulations are framed.

The order came on a petition filed by an NGO, Justice for Rights, which claimed that the platforms were telecasting shows that have ‘inappropriate, sexually explicit and religiously forbidden’ content because of lack of regulation, reported The Indian Express.

The report further said that the top court dismissed the plea on the ground that there was no public interest involved.

The petition had singled out Sacred Games, Game of Thrones, Vikings, and Spartacus as examples of the kind of content it wants regulated, reported Hindustan Times.
