As India evacuated a second batch of 323 stranded Indians from the Corona hit Wuhan city in China on Sunday, a second positive case of Novel Coronavirus has been detected in Kerala.

ANI reported the patient who has a history of travelling to China, has been kept in an isolation ward in a hospital. He is said to be stable and is being closely monitored.

Meanwhile, country’s first corona virus infected patient, a woman who returned to Kerala from China last week, was recovering fast.

While World health Organisation (WHO) has declared a global emergency as cases of corona virus have crossed 7800 across the world, India too have sounded alert and asked the respective state government to conduct screening at all domestic and international airports. Kolkata too is put on high alert as the woman, the first confirmed case of Corona virus in India spent four hours in transit at the Kolkata International Airport on December 23 before taking a flight to Kochi.

Meanwhile, China’s death toll from the new virus has increased to 304 with more than 14,000 cases, amid warnings from the World Health Organization that other countries need to be prepared in the event the disease spreads among their populations.

Figures from the National Health Commission released on Sunday show an increase of 45 in the death toll and 2,590 in the number of cases for a total of 14,380, well above the number of those infected in in the 2002-03 outbreak of SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome, which broke out in southern China before spread.
