Collarbone-Length Hairstyles Are Having A Moment In Hollywood

Shoulder-length hair is the new sexy.

Super short hair isn't for everybody, and not everyone is up for the maintenance that comes with having really long locks. The happy medium? Collarbone-length hair.

We've recently spotted actresses Carey Mulligan, Gabrielle Union and Jessica Chastain rocking the clavicle-grazing cut. Meanwhile, red carpet stunners such as Salma Hayek and Molly Sims have managed to make collarbone-length hair their signature look.

There are three reasons we love collarbone-length haircuts. For starters, it's a super flattering style that complements every face shape. Second, it allows you to keep a bit of length without feeling like you're totally weighed down by hair. And lastly, it is still possible to pull your strands into a ponytail.

Scroll down to see five different examples of collarbone-length hairstyles. Plus, read our editors' tips on how to recreate these celebrity 'dos.

Carey Mulligan attended the "Suffragette" premiere in New York City with her collarbone-length locks styled with a subtle side part, which gave way to her cat eye and creamy red lip. Apply a mousse like Bumble and Bumble Thickening Full Form before blowdrying to achieve a healthy-looking and shiny hair like Mulligan's.

The "Being Mary Jane" actress made an appearance at the AOL Studios in New York City looking absolutely stunning wearing a tousled, collarbone-length cut that accentuated her jet black hair color. To add a subtle "bend" to your locks, be sure to prep with a heat protectant product like OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum and then wrap hair around a clipless curling iron.

We couldn't take our eyes off Molly Sims' vibrant blonde hair on Variety's 2015 Power Of Women Luncheon red carpet. It framed her oval face shape beautifully, and the hue stood out against her sheer black outfit. John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss In-Shower Treatment will instantly boost your salon dye job when it starts to lose its luster.

Salma Hayek Pinault also attended Variety's Power Of Women Luncheon. The actress looked like she stepped straight out of a 1950s pin-up calendar with her retro curls, bold brows and cherry red lips. Hot rollers are an easy way to "give some lift and bounce to hair" when you're short on time, according to celebrity hairstylist Ben Skervin.

Jessica Chastain has been busy making the promo rounds for "Crimson Peak." We love how she styled her collarbone-length haircut with '20s-inspired Marcel waves to create a really modern look. You can easily get this hairdo by using the Harry Josh Pro Tools 2-in-1 Ceramic Marcel Curling Iron.
