Raj is among the 27 suspects named in the FIR.

Yogesh Raj, the key accused in the violence that broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr last month over alleged cow carcass, has been arrested.

The local Bajrang Dal leader, according to India Today, is among the 27 suspects named in the FIR.

Police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and 20-year-old Sumit Kumar were shot dead when a mob attacked police on 3 December. The violence had broken out near Chingrawathi police post after cattle carcasses were found strewn in a field near Mahaw village.

Soon after the violence broke, Raj had released a video claiming innocence and saying that he was not present at the site.

Police had arrested a man, accused of attacking Singh with an axe on 1 January.
