Amit Shah Congratulates Supreme Court Judges On 'Historic' Ayodhya Verdict

The verdict will strengthen India’s unity, integrity and culture, the Union home minister said.

Union home minister Amit Shah welcomed the Supreme Court’s “historic verdict” on the Ayodhya dispute.

“Today’s judgement brings to an end the decades-long legal dispute,” he said.

The verdict will strengthen India’s unity, integrity and culture, Shah tweeted on Saturday.

He congratulated the Supreme court justices and the judicial system on its decision.

Shah appealed to people of communities and religions to maintain peace and harmony.

He also expressed gratitude to all institutions, the community of saints and several others who worked towards resolution.

A Constitution bench of the Supreme Court, led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, delivered a unanimous verdict in the case.

The disputed site in Ayodhya was awarded to the Hindu parties, while the top court directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot to the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board for building a mosque.

Ahead of the verdict, a high-level meeting was held Shah’s residence which was attended by NSA Ajit Doval, Home Secretary and the Intelligence Bureau director.
