Airtel, Vodafone Confirm Data Services Suspended In Parts Of Delhi

Airtel also said that it has suspended voice and SMS services in certain areas in Delhi.

While Section 144 has been imposed near Red Fort in Delhi as protesters march against the Citizenship Amendment Act, several Twitter users have also complained of mobile internet issues in Delhi.

In response to a tweet, Airtel confirmed that the company is “complying with instructions received from government authorities on suspending voice, SMS and data in certain areas in Delhi.”

In response to a tweet on network issues in Delhi, Vodafone said, “as per the directive received from the government, data services are stopped at few locations”.

ANI also tweeted a copy of the order from Delhi Police Special Cell directing that voice, SMS and internet serviced be stopped from 9 am to 1 pm in certain areas.

Several people have been detained in Delhi, including Yogendra Yadav, during the protest at Red Fort. Delhi Police said it has not given permission for both the protests — at Red Fort and Mandi House.
