Citizen journalists around the world continue to shine through the chaos of the news landscape, often providing us with the first insight into places journalists are unable to reach. And that can only be a good thing right? Why not have extra pairs of eyes that journalists can rely on? After all, journalists can't be everywhere all the time.
Priyanka is Manager of the International Political Forum and studies Journalism with Human Rights at Kingston University. She is currently the Online Editor for Kingston University's River Newspaper and has previously undertaken Communications internships with United Nations Association, British Institute of Human Rights and One World Media. Additionally, Priyanka sat on the Youth Advisory Board for Index on Censorship and recently founded the Spread The Word Campaign. She has written for publications like The Ecologist, Time Out London, The London Film Review, The Chiswick Herald, Gorilla Film Magazine, The Richmond and Twickenham Times, and Gorilla Film Magazine, as well as magazines in South Africa and India.
