Deepak Visweswaraiah, Vice President, Manageability Products Group (MPG) at NetApp heads the worldwide charter for Manageability Products and is also the Managing Director of NetApp India. As VP of MPG, he is responsible for delivering the value of NetApp powered Data Fabric.
Data Fabric is NetApp’s vision of how the future would look like for customers. NetApp believes that the cloud is compelling for certain use cases and that the hybrid cloud will become the dominant model for enterprise IT for years to come. Data is at the center of the hybrid cloud. Applications may change, but the data they create has enduring value.
This puts additional responsibility on Deepak to ensure that Manageability Products are seamlessly integrated into the ecosystem, they are deployed in, to enable cross-platform management, hybrid cloud management, software defined data center and more.
As a Managing Director of NetApp India, which is the second largest R&D center outside US, Deepak has to deliver on EVP Product Operations George Kurian’s vision to develop NetApp India into a Centre of Excellence. Owing to the consistent path-breaking innovations emerging from this engineering hub and continued endeavors to drive innovation in key NetApp technologies like Storage Management, Back-up/Recovery, Business Continuity, Storage Security and SAN Infrastructure, NetApp India is seen as a Center of Excellence. Deepak as the MD of the site has to see that nothing falls through the cracks.
An IT veteran for over 30+ years, Deepak prior to joining NetApp in December 2012, has held leadership positions in companies like EMC where he was the Senior Director and General Manager of Infrastructure Management Group (IMG) at EMC India’s Center of Excellence (CoE). In addition to this responsibility Deepak also managed the R&D team for iOmega and VCE out of India CoE. He has worked in companies like i2 Technologies as a Senior Director. Deepak has been in various senior management and engineering roles in the United States at PharmQuest Corp., LSI Logic, Adobe Systems, and Interactive Network during his career.
Deepak holds a M.S. in Engineering from University of Texas and an MBA from University of Phoenix.
