Taru Kapoor

India Head – Tinder

Taru Kapoor, a Harvard graduate, leads the India business for Tinder, where she leads efforts to expand Tinder’s reach in terms of user and business growth. Her knowledge of the market is a compliment to the brand aspirations in the market.

She has extensive experience in business development, product and growth strategy, and financial modelling and planning. In her previous stints, she has worked with Sequoia Capital India, where she was responsible for sourcing, evaluation and execution of early stage investments while driving strategic and operational initiatives at investee companies. She has also worked with The Boston Consulting Group, developing solutions to strategic and operational challenges of leading global and Indian firms.

Taru graduated from IIT Delhi with a B.Tech and M.Tech in Chemical Engineering and received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.

Taru’s ideal way to unwind is to read classics and business books. Taru is also an ardent cricket fan and values quality time spent with family and close friends. Taru is deeply passionate about the mobile, internet and start-up ecosystem in India.
