He is a trained mediator and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt from the International Six Sigma Institute. <br> <br> Soumik is passionate about contributing to the communities that surround him and has been associated with the Rotaract Clubs in his city, initiatives of the Teach for India foundation & the Grameen Foundation (Bankers without Borders) and other NGOs that primarily work towards caring for & educating children, providing medical facilities for the underprivileged and facilitating relief efforts for communities affected by natural disasters - and has recently started a scholarship to support vocational training of young women in the State of Maharashtra, India.

The 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) puts India at rank 104, falling 13 places from the 2014 rankings, below countries like Gambia, Benin and Liberia. The rank is calculated basis scores achieved on 14 'pillars' and India scores really low on most of the pillars.
