Is there any city in India which can be termed safe for women? "Eve-teasing" (can we please just retire this archaic, minimising term and call it sexual harassment already?) is a phenomenon that transcends the boundaries of region, religion and caste. Regardless of where you are, if you're a woman you're probably looking over your shoulder, ducking your head or quickening your pace on the streets.
Mausumi Sucharita started her career as a computer engineer with a renowned scientific research centre. After working there for a couple of years she felt there was something amiss and realised her true passion lies in writing. There was no looking back after that, she switched tracks from engineering to journalism. Earlier, women used to travel with their families only during the winter or summer vacations. A woman travelling solo was unheard of. But today more and more Indian women are keen on travelling and not necessarily with their families or friends.

People often complain that multi-speciality hospitals are too expensive to visit for minor health problems because they usually recommend unnecessary diagnostic tests that come with a high price tag. Having a family doctor could be the answer to this problem.

It makes me wonder why people have such double standards about cleanliness. Why do people need a celebrity to tell them to keep their surroundings clean? Do people wait every day to hear from Priyanka Chopra or Aamir Khan before cleaning their houses?
