Jonmani Das

Student, Jawaharlal Nehru University

Hello, This is Jonmani. I am currently a student of Medieval and Early Modern History in Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Hailing from Assam, I have spent the better part of my student life in New Delhi. I am particularly interested in the dialogue between politics, society and history with special emphasis on the subaltern and marginalised groups. Beside India, I am interested in Middle-East. I have keenly followed the developments in Middle-East and North Africa following the US intervention in Iraq and the rise of ISIL. Poetry has deeply influenced me, especially free verse. I am currently working on a blog where I plan to share some of my own attempts at poetry.
