Gena Steffens is a documentary photographer, artist, filmmaker, and writer whose work is profoundly influenced by her academic background in social and environmental topics in Latin America. Steffens is currently based in southern Colombia, where, with the help of National Geographic, she is carrying out a long-term documentary project focused on the environmental consequences of war and peace in the wake of the 2016 peace accords between the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the Colombian government.
