Founder & CEO, Wisdomjobs.com
Ajay Kolla is the Founder and CEO of Wisdom Jobs, India’s only recruitment portal with an integrated online skill testing & rating system that enables the recruiter and the job seeker to connect effectively and advance the recruitment procedure. During the recession in 2008, Ajay started a Google group and offered assistance to his unemployed friends in finding suitable jobs and successfully placed 20,000 people through this group. This little initiative by Ajay catalyzed a business concept in the recruitment sector that led to the launch of Wisdomjobs.com in 2010.
Ajay used his diverse expertise and past work experience as an ABAP consultant, in developing a unique skill assessment tool called the ‘Pragnya Meter’. Pragnya Meter is a candidate testing and rating tool that involves screening thousands of applicants and filtering them based on the score they attain in this test. It also gives the option of customizing the assessment for the recruiter from a wide selection of 6000 odd skill sets. As a dynamic entrepreneur, he observed the industry thoroughly to analyze and understand its needs. Based on his observations, he developed Pragnya Meter as a means of simplified hiring.
Ajay started his career as an ABAP consultant and had stints with Cyient, TCS and Tieto which gave him ample experience in the areas of EDI, SAP SD, MM Module and Data Migration. This experience and an in-depth insight into the industry were instrumental in establishing Wisdom Jobs in 2010. With a database of 30 million profiles out of which 13 million have taken the Pragnya Meter test and rated accordingly, Wisdom Jobs has set a benchmark in quality recruitment within a short span of 5 years.
Ajay is a B. Tech in Electronic and Electrical engineering from Nagarjuna University. In his leisure time, Ajay loves travelling and exploring new places. He has developed a fad for watching Kabaddi sport and is a great fan of ‘UMumba’ team. His favorite book is ‘Learnings of an Advertising Practitioner’ by Late Mr. AG Krishnamurthy. Ajay also takes out time for teaching the underprivileged students and also supports a Government Primary School which he has adopted in his hometown.
