Rajasthan‏ ‏‏‎ ‏‎Congress president Sachin Pilot, who is leading from the Tonk constituency, told news channels that the election results in the state, where the Congress looks set to form the next government, is a gift for party president Rahul Gandhi.

Gandhi had taken over as party president almost exactly a year ago, on 16 December 2017.

Rajasthan had polled for 199 seats out of 200 on December 7. In the previous assembly election, the BJP had won 163 seats and the Congress just 21.

According to the ECI results website, at the time of publishing, the Congress was leading by 87 seats in Rajasthan, though news reports put this number around 95.

Pilot himself is leading in the Tonk constituency against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) Yunus Khan.

Rajasthan has been voting out the incumbent government in every state election since 1993. Of the five exit polls that announced projections for the state, four gave a clear edge to the Congress.
