The Congress has been widely seen as a favourite to win in the state, where many voters have expressed their dissatisfaction with incumbent chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

RajasthanCongress President Sachin Pilot is leading by more than 53,000 votes in the Tonk constituency against the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) Yoonus Khan, according to the latest numbers.

Pilot has garnered 107,753 votes so far, against Khan's 54,183.

The Congress has been widely seen as a favourite to win in the state, where many voters have expressed their dissatisfaction with incumbent chief minister Vasundhara Raje. The Election Commission website shows that the Congress is leading in 102 seats—just across the halfway mark—while the BJP is ahead in 69 seats. The state has 200 assembly seats, of which 199 went to polls earlier this month.

Rajasthan has been voting out the incumbent government in every state election since 1993. Of the five exit polls that announced projections for the state, four gave a clear edge to the Congress.

"People have made up their mind—we are getting an overwhelming response to our campaign and with the Prime Minister and Mr. (Amit) Shah and other BJP leaders coming here; they are only making noise, but it can never be converted into votes because people have made up their minds. We are going to win," Pilot had told HuffPost India in an interview last week.

Journalists have tweeted that Pilot's supporters are already celebrating in the expectation that he will win, though there is still no clarity on who will become the CM if Congress does, indeed, win—Pilot or former CM Ashok Gehlot.
