The exit polls for Telangana were released on Friday soon after the voting for the five-state assembly election, ended and most of them gave a clear win to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
In Telangana, which has 119 assembly seats, a party has to get 60 seats to cross the halfway mark.
The state witnessed a triangular contest with the Congress-led alliance, the TRS and the BJP locked in a bitter fight. The Congress's alliance included the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI).
- The India Today-Axis My India poll gave TRS between 79-91 seats, with the Congress alliance projected to get 21-33 seats. The BJP, meanwhile, is expected to only get 1-3 seats.
- The Times Now-CNX poll gave 66 seats to TRS, 37 to the Congress-led alliance, 7 to BJP and 9 to others.
- The Republic TV-Jan Ki Baat poll has given 50-65 seats to TRS, 38-52 to the Congress alliance, and 4-7 to BJP.
- The CVoter-Republic exit poll predicted 48-60 seats for TRS and 47-59 for Congress.
In the last Assembly elections, TRS had won 63 of the 119 Assembly seats in the newly-formed State. The Congress won 21 seats and the Telugu Desam Party-BJP combine 21.
