Thousands of farmers converged in Delhi on Thursday from across the country to take part in a two-day protest and press for their demands. The protesters, who are marching under the banner of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), are demanding debt relief and remunerative prices for their produce among others.

The farmers, from states including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana, will camp at the Ramlila Maidan on Thursday night and march towards Parliament Street on Friday.

A cultural programme will be held at Ramlila Ground on Thursday, according to PTI, and prominent singers and poets from rural India are expected to perform.

Farmers are marching under the banner of AIKSCC, which is a confederation of around 200 farmers' groups from across the country.
