Sushma Swaraj Says She Won't Contest 2019 Lok Sabha Election

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has cited health reasons for not contesting the upcoming elections.

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday announced that will not contest the the 2019 Lok Sabha Election.

"It is the party which decides, but I have made up my mind not to contest next elections," ANI quoted her as saying.

Swaraj, who is a Member of Parliament from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, made the announcement at a press meet in Indore on Tuesday, reported Hindustan Times. The minister further said that she had informed the party about her decision.

Swaraj cited health reasons for not contesting the upcoming elections, according to Hindustan Times.
