We at HuffPost India want to publish the most exciting and interesting reportage and features writing in India. Our readers come to us for news that spans a wide range of interests including data, privacy and technology; caste, gender, and politics; the environment, science and entertainment.

We try to publish diverse voices that reflect India's linguistic and regional plurality, and those who would otherwise be left out of the public conversation.

But before you do, read this:

• Send us a pitch: A clear, coherent story pitch, a firm deadline, with an estimated word length makes it much easier for us to commission writing. Additional details like a list of potential sources and experts that you will speak to, and places that you would need to travel to, information gleaned from pre-reporting, are very helpful too.
• Make sure you have the sources to back up your pitch: Our fact-checkers need to ensure that everything we publish is as water-tight as possible. So if you are attempting an ambitious story, do make sure you have the sources, and the research to report out the story.
• Is the story time-bound? Has a version of it been published before? If yes, let us know what makes your story different from what's already out there.
