A day after the body of a three-year-old girl was found in Gurgaon, the police said that she was tortured and raped and a stick was found in her private parts.

Hindustan Timesquoted Dr Deepak Mathur, a forensic expert, as saying, "Her death was caused by the head injury and excessive internal bleeding. She was hit with a heavy object on her head due to which the skull sustained a deep depressed fracture. Multiple bruises were found on the victim's shoulders, waist, chest and back, suggesting she was tortured."

The girl's body was found on Monday in Guga Colony in Gurgaon's Sector 66. The police have said that the accused, 20-year-old Sunil Kumar, has been absconding since the incident.

The report says that Kumar was in Gurgaon during the time of the incident as his sisters and mother live there.

Hindustan Times reported that the police have formed four teams to look for the accused and have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) and Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The police have said that the accused had approached the girl on Sunday morning when she was playing with two other girls. Her body was found on Monday by neighbours of the girl inside a room near a temple with her head covered with a plastic bag, and bricks on her body.
