That Ranveer Singh doesn't hold back, whether it's wardrobe or conversation, is already well-known.
But during the latest episode of Koffee With Karan, Singh, who was accompanied by Akshay Kumar, came up with a quip that had all sorts of personal references.
When host Karan Johar asked who would Singh like to see in the sequel of his hit film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the Lootera actor had the kind of response that makes the show what it is.
Singh said the sequel should feature Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, and himself, as Shah Rukh Khan. Kapoor as the character essayed by Salman Khan.
Now, for those who're not tuned into the intricate relationship dynamics in Bollywood, here's an explainer. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were dating for several years before Kapoor broke up with her to be with Katrina Kaif. Around the same time, Padukone got close to Ranveer Singh and their love story bloomed on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela. As fate would have it, Kapoor and Kaif couldn't sustain their relationship, even after having lived-in for over three years. They eventually broke-up.
Before one could make sense of all this, Alia Bhatt, who Kapoor is currently dating, had already entered the picture. Plot twist: Bhatt and Padukone were the first guests on Koffee With Karan and were more at ease than Kapoor and Singh, who appeared together last year.
So if Singh has his way with the cast of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2, it will be one hell of a movie to watch.
Meanwhile, here's a picture of all of them getting drunk.
