Newsminute reported that Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad has evicted two students from the hostel after they levelled sexual harassment allegations against a professor and shared their ordeal on Facebook. Following the eviction, one of the students filed a police complaint against the dean of her hostel allegedly for trying to intimidate her and take down the Facebook post.

Newsminute had reported that the fourth year law students also alleged that the university has 'verbally' rusticated them, though no written order to that effect has come their way. They told the website that various people in the college's administration had threatened to expel them if they did not take their Facebook post down.

The circular issued to them, however, stated that they were being evicted from the hotel as disciplinary action taken against them for trying to leave the campus without obtaining at out pass in June. The students, however, said that this was a mere excuse to victimise them.

Symbiosis was hit hard in the wave of #MeToo protests with as many as 100 students complaining of harassment against the director of the Centre of Media and communication. After 100 students wrote a petition detailing the harassment they faced, the dean was asked to go on 'leave'.

A spokesperson for the college said that since almost 100 students had complained against the dean the investigation will take a while and the dean has been sent on leave for that time.

The university's ICC is has been looking into the allegations against the law college professor since May this year.
