#MeToo FallOut: Mumbai Film Festival Drops AIB's 'Chintu Ka Birthday' And Rajat Kapoor's 'Khadak'

In the wake of the #MeToo movement in Bollywood, the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) dropped two films—All India Bakchod's (AIB's) Chintu Ka Birthday and Rajat Kapoor's Khadak—from the line up for the upcoming edition of the Jio Mami film festival.

Announcing its decision in a statement, MAMI said that it stood in support of the #MeToo movement and wanted to use this opportunity to open up conversation about sexual harassment at work places.

This comes even as streaming platform Hotstar announced that it would cancel the third season of the show On Air With AIB in light of the accusations against people associated with the comedy collective.

AIB announced on Monday that founder Tanmay Bhat would not be associated with them until further notice and Gursimran Khamba will be on "temporary leave of absence".

Khamba has been accused of sexual harassment. Meanwhile, when allegations against Utsav Chakraborty came to light, the survivor said that Bhat was aware of Chakraborty's actions, but no one did anything about it.

Meanwhile, actor Kapoor was accused of sexual misconduct by two women, a journalist and an assistant director. The actor put out a statement on Sunday, apologising for his behaviour:
