PC George, the only independent MLA in the Kerala assembly, has been criticised by many people for his recent remarks about the nun who has accused Jalandhar Bishop James Franco Mulakkal of rape.

The motormouth politician, who is known for his outrageous statements, has been accused of victim-shaming for his remarks at a press conference, which caused the survivor much trauma and forced her to cancel a press meet.

Now, a group of women have started a #VaayaMoodal (mouth shut) campaign asking people to send duct tapes to the politician, along with a handwritten note. A Facebook post from Monday has a picture of the Poonjar MLA with his mouth taped up, along with his address.

Actor Parvathy Thiruvoth, who has herself been the target of a misogynist campaign, tweeted on Tuesday in support of the campaign:

Deccan Chronicle reported that activist and writer Aysha Mahmood had begun the campaign along with some friends.

"We thought our first need was to get him to stop spewing so much hate and allegations on victims. He has been repeatedly doing this, using his power as MLA to make statements that affect the mental well-being of victims. Our first need was to help him shut up," Mahmood told Deccan Chronicle.
