'Modiji Has Hit Us A Body Blow': Twitter Reacts To Rupee Falling To 71 Against Dollar

As the rupee fell to a record low of 71 against the dollar, critics of the Bharatiya Janata Party took to Twitter to rip apart the government's policies. Both political rivals and just politically-minded social media users bashed the government on social media for the currency's poor performance against the dollar over the past months.

Predictably, the first to take to Twitter was the opposition, led by Congress.

The party's creative juices were, literally, flowing through Twitter. Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala took to poetry even.

Loktantrik Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav also criticised the government.

However, the government had some supporters as well, who pointed out that all currencies have been faltering as the dollar has strengthened remarkably the past few weeks.
