Even as Gurmeet Singh is supposedly growing vegetables behind bars, reports suggest that there may be a mass grave inside the Dera Sacha Saud headquarters in Sirsa where more than 600 people could be buried.

India Today reported sources in the Special Investigative Team (SIT) as saying that close aides of the Dera chief Dr PR Nain and Dera chairperson Vipassana Insan have relevant documents to prove that such a mass grave exists and that saplings were planted on the same land on advice from a german scientist.

The blind supporters of the Dera chief were apparently aware of this mass grave.

Zee News reported Dera followers as saying that Singh would order the burials to "attain moksha".

A journalist had earlier told Zee News that many bodies would be found inside the Dera headquarters if an excavation was carried out.

Haryana journalist Ramanand Tatia had told the news channel that those who opposed the Dera chief were secretly murdered and buried inside the campus.

Tatia had suggested that an excavation should have been done in front of the entire national media. He had also claimed that the Dera followers were made to sign undertakings taking responsibility of their own deaths.

Singh, who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping of two of his disciples, seems to have been hiding several illegal activities inside his sprawling premises.

The Haryana government is also probing if illegal abortions were being carried out inside the Dera campus. Deputy commissioner Prabhjot Singh had told Hindustan Times, "The medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) act was not being followed properly in the hospital and irregularities have been detected."

NDTV had also reported that the hospital did not maintain proper records, neither did they have proper records for dead bodies sent from the hospital.

Singh's headquarters also supposedly ran a skin bank without a license.
