Lashkar Commander Responsible For Amarnath Attacks Killed In Encounter In Kashmir

SRINAGAR -- Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Ismail and another terrorist have been killed in an encounter with the security forces at Aarigam, Nowgam in the outskirts of Srinagar.

Ismail was involved in Amarnath attack earlier this year.

Talking to the media here, Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar said, "This is a huge achievement. The terrorist was responsible for the attack on Amarnath Yatra."

As many as seven people were killed and fifteen others injured after a group of terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying 17 pilgrims from Baltal to Mir Bazar on July 10.

The authorities have blocked 4G mobile internet services in the city following the killing of LeT commander.
