WATCH: Kashmiris Help Injured Army Jawan In Budgam, Twitter Is Moved By Their 'Kashmiriyat'

"A true indicator of Kashmiriyat and Insaniyat."

Here's proof that amid all the violence and skirmishes between local Kashmiris and armymen, humanity continues to thrive in the valley. Yesterday, a video of locals helping army jawans injured in a road accident in central Kashmir's Budgam area surfaced on social media and has gone viral, touching the hearts of viewers across the country.

As can be seen in the video, a group of Kashmiri youths was seen helping injured soldiers after their vehicle slid off the road late at night on Sunday, 3 August. People from the nearby areas rushed to the spot and provided water and first-aid to the soldiers, before helping them back to their feet.

Praising the display of 'insaniyat' by the Kashmiris, defence ministry spokesperson, Col Rajesh Kalia told Times Of India, "The Chinar Corps Cdr, Lt Gen JS Sandhu has thanked the locals for this gesture. It is a true indicator of Kashmiriyat and Insaniyat where people help each other. This will go a long way in strengthening the bond of friendship between the awaam (common man) and the jawan (soldiers). "

As the video went viral, many took to Twitter to laud the youth who were able to put their personal differences with the army aside when tragedy struck, embodying the true spirit of Kashmir.

Such a welcome departure from the news of stone-pelting that normally comes out of Kashmir!
