MIRZAPUR -- A brazen act of disrespecting a school was witnessed in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur District.

A government primary school, situated in Tetriya village of Jamalpur, was turned into a dance bar on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

According to the Times of India report, the school was shut for three days on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. During this period, the gram pradhan took the keys and organized a party on Monday night to celebrate his son's birthday.

The program, attended by village heads of nearby areas, saw attendees showering money on the women dancing on Bhojpuri songs.

The video of the incident, which has gone viral, also shows the village heads trying to imitate the dance moves.

Primary Education officer Pravin Kumar Tiwari said an investigation will be carried out into the incident. "We are preparing a detailed report of the incident, and it will be submitted to the district magistrate on Thursday for further action," he reportedly said. Tiwari, however, claimed that there was no involvement of any teacher or school principal.
